5 Questions to ask ... when choosing your dental software

We understand it is a difficult choice for dental practices looking to change or install a Practice Management System. We've drawn up a short checklist to help you on your way.

1. What is the vendor's reputation?

  • Remember that the practice management system you choose will be an integral part of your dental practice for years to come.
  • What do the vendor's customers think about the software? Can they offer real life case studies and testimonials to back up their claims?
  • Are you going to choose a tried and tested dental practice management system or go with the new kid on the block?

2. What will it cost? Are there any hidden charges?

  • Does the vendor offer a cap on the number of licence fees payable?
  • What about future system releases? Will you be charged to upgrade to new versions?
  • Do you have to pay for additional 'features' or 'add-ons'?

3. What about security and backup?

  • Unfortunately Computers crash. Systems fail. How will you deal with it?

4. How will my staff be trained?
